Sudu's two new boats were blessed and had their spirits awakened through the traditional eye-dotting ceremony, led by several Venerables from Nan Tien Temple. This ritual, rooted in ancient Chinese dragon boat traditions, symbolically “awakens” the dragon’s spirit, while the Buddhist blessings added a sense of protection, harmony, and wellbeing. It was an inspiring and memorable experience for everyone involved.
We were delighted to share the moment with Anna Watson MP - Member for Shellharbour, Councillor John Davey, and we sincerely thank The Shellharbour Club for their continued support, which is greatly appreciated.
Most importantly, the new boats are a testament to the SUDU community. The dedication, teamwork, and effort of our members made them possible. Dragon boating isn’t just about paddling, it’s about connection, culture, fitness, and fun.
